Do you know what you really, really want when it comes to eLearning?
Data from our Course-Source marketplace offers you an answer
Our Course-Source eLearning for Business website offers unique insights into the evolving organisational requirements for eLearning content. We can mine our website visitor and registered user data to better understand the current patterns in L&D’s quest for eLearning content.
What would you think would be the most viewed course title in 2017? Would you be thinking it would be something to do with Microsoft Excel or perhaps the impacts of GDPR? If you do, then I’m afraid you are wrong and wrong!
The top three most viewed course pages in 2017 in our extensive two thousand plus eLearning catalogue are…
In third place is Unconscious Bias.
In second place is Time Management.
Leading the way in first place is Equality & Diversity.
What does this tell as about L&D priorities in today’s organisations? It evidences a growing desire to maximise people productivity within an environment that treats people equally and fairly. No bad thing.
If we look at course search behaviour then the top subject area for visitor searches by a significant margin is leadership and management which contributes 20% of all searches. This is followed by desktop IT with 13%, followed by near equal weighting across compliance, health & safety, languages, and personal development subjects.
Historically IT desktop and health & safety have formed the ‘bread and butter’ of organisational eLearning consumption, but our researching is indicating that the priority agends for new content is swinging rapidly towards the so termed ‘soft skills’ subject areas.
