We’ve noticed a marked increase in enrolments on our range of health & safety and stress management e-learning courses since this year’s Health & Safety at Work week took place late in October.

hard hats in a row

Coordinated in the UK by the Health and Safety Executive, the week runs in October each year and is designed to highlight the importance of Health & Safety in the workplace.

According to Eurostat, more than 5,000 people are killed each year in the EU, due to workplace accidents that could, for the most part, be avoided.

The most recent TUC survey tells us that the top-five hazards at work are:

1. stress
2. bullying and harassment
3. overwork
4. back strains
5. slips,trips and falls

One of the highlights of the Health & Safety at Work week is National Inspection Day (This year it fell on October 21). It’s a day when all safety representatives are encouraged to inspect their workplace, take action and collaborate with HR and L&D departments to address any weak spots they might identify. L&D’s role in this process is to source the resources and learning materials required to ensure that these weak spots are addressed.

If the success of European Health & Safety week has already prompted your company’s safety representative to call for new learning resources we’ve probably got just what you need somewhere in our health & safety eLearning catalogue.

Our unique online marketplace and pay-per-enrolment buying model means you can quickly search, locate, review and evaluate any eLearning courses before you buy only the titles and quantities that you actually need. It’s the easiest and most cost-effective way to assess new learning content fully, and to make sure it’s right for your business.
