Cegos is a little different to the majority of eLearning publishers in that they are a truly global classroom training business employing over 1,000 staff world-wide and training 250,000 people globally every year, in open or in-house facilitated courses. The Group has a comprehensive product range that extends from off-the-shelf courses to tailored solutions.
The Cegos online course catalogue comprises of 81 soft skills HTML5, mobile-ready titles which are used by over 2 million learners every year. Cegos recognise that learners seek engaging interactivity, «no boring stuff» and they need content that helps them solve day-to-day work issues. Also, very importantly, learners expect content to be adapted to their geographical location and culture. The Cegos courses make extensive use of video (e.g. talking heads) and animations to create an engaging and immersive experience coupled with using 27 forms of learner interactions to ensure there are frequent and meaningful student challenges.
As a global education business, Cegos recognise the importance of providing fully localised content. Each of their modules is tailored with the help of local partners so that courses are adapted for locality of use, not just literal language translation, but also the use of local phraseology and addressing cultural differences. For example, the media, audio, video and all other aspects of the course take into account the specificities of each local language and culture. Each Cegos module supports between six to fourteen international languages and the student can change the course language in use at any time.
