Course Overview

This programme will be of interest to any health professional whose patients present with chest pain. It will be of particular interest to paramedics, GPs and nurses involved in the early or pre-hospital management of patients with suspected Acute Coronary Syndrome.

Course Objective

By the end of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Understand the spectrum of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) presentations.
  2. Identify the clinical signs and symptoms in ACS
  3. Understand the rationale and techniques in reperfusion therapy including thrombolysis and Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
